The costs of loyalty
This story begins in the aftermath of some traumatic event that drove a college football player away from his team and his love of the game. The now-disillusioned Wally seems to lack direction in the wake of his time on the phenomenal team known as "the Tribe." As the story shifts between narrators and time periods, readers begin to learn about Wally's extraordinary loyalty, both to his biological brother and to his brothers on the field. What did that loyalty cost him, and what dramas and traumas haunt the Tribe?
