I received a complimentary copy of SHE WOULDN’T CHANGE A THING by Sarah Adlakha from Forge Books!

SHE WOULDN’T CHANGE A THING looks at what you would do if you had the opportunity to go back and relive your life. Maria Forssmann is 39 years old. She has two beautiful daughters and a son on the way. She’s happily married with a fulfilling career as a psychiatrist. There are the regular frustrations of day to day life, but in general everything is perfect, but life is about to make a big shift.

Something happens in the present day, something Maria doesn’t quite remember, but waking up in her old bedroom, once again in her 17 year old body feels all kinds of wrong. She knows that being back in the past gives her the opportunity to right wrongs done in people’s lives, but she also knows that making changes will erase the future she longs to go back to.

This type of alternate timeline story is right up my alley so I was excited to dig right in. I thought the author did a fantastic job of dealing with the implications of the timelines, while making some very interesting choices in terms of who does and doesn’t believe Maria and what choices Maria is sure she should and shouldn’t make.

This would make a fantastic book for discussion because it raises a lot of questions of what choices you would make. What if you could save a life, but it means sacrificing the future you know is waiting for you, a future that you love? Could you live with the guilt of knowing you could have changed something for the better and didn’t? The story takes some twists that I definitely didn’t expect!

This is an interesting read for those who enjoy the idea of exploring life choices and ramifications.
