I recently won and reviewed Lynda La Plante's latest TENNISON book. Previously I reviewed the first in the series. I loved both of them! Previously I had read a couple of the books highlighting the later career of Jane Tennison.

All of these books had one thing in common: all revolved around Jane Tennison. The all were excellent reads. This book appears to be different in that it does not appear to be focusing on Jane Tennison at all.

The snippet given for us to read tells of Dorothy Rawlins, a woman released after serving 8 years of her prison term for the murder of her husband. Rumor has it that she may have been involved in a major diamond robbery some time back. No proof of that rumor was given.

We are also introduced to an odd variety of people who have some interest in Dorothy--or rather, in the diamonds that they presume Dorothy has stashed away somewhere. Every one of them is looking to cash in on the diamonds once Dorothy unearths them.

The book could go in a wide variety of directions from this point. Perhaps Dorothy is innocent and looks to return the diamonds to the authorities. Perhaps she is interested in dealing with the person who really committed the murder. Or, perhaps this group of people are really members of her "gang". At any rate, now that Dorothy is out of prison and heading for the "She's Out Party" that they are throwing for her, Dorothy is going to do something interesting and I want to know what it is.

I look forward to reading this book.
