Erotica is one of my top three favorite genres in writing, so I had a lot of hope for this book and I was really anxious and excited to receive and read it. So I'm very disappointed that this book ended up being a DNF from me.

I think it's equal parts writing style and me having read this genre so often and so long that my standards are incredibly high. Plus, I was definitely in a critical mood when I started to read it but rest assured, even if I was not in a critical mood, I would have still DNF'd this book. So I'll describe why.

The biggest thing that threw me off of his book was the choices that the writer(s?) were making in terms of reading and word choice. We started the book out with the main character immediately being intensely sexually attracted to the other main character which is pretty bland and boring. I like my erotica to be hate to love. But I also like it to be a slow burn hate to love. Let them hate each other a bit before having sexual dreams and then lets get into the hanky panky. I feel like the life blood of erotica is the pacing of it and this book lacked that. So I DNF'd it.
