First of all, I'll say that if you're a big fan of 50 shades, then you'll probably enjoy this too as they are VERY similar. For me, I didn't love that series or this book.

A lot of things happen in the first couple of chapters that sort of draw you in and make you want to read more (the first impression preview kinda had me hooked)... to try to avoid spoiling anything, there's a big story that's all over the news - and it kind of seems like this will be a big part of the storyline, but it's actually not. You don't really read much more about it until the very end. And even then, questions aren't really answered (I suppose that's so you'll want to read the second book in the series)... The whole rest of the book is pretty much focused on the developing relationship between Abbigail and Sebastian.

Sebastian is not a character I am particularly fond of and therefore, I'm not really rooting for him and Abbi to work out. The man is a cocky douchebag, for lack of a better term. Yes, it is revealed that he had a tough childhood. And yes, he does have his "soft" spots (i.e. his relationship with his sister and niece)... but his general treatment of women is totally disrespectful and honestly a huge turn off for me. If a guy talked to me the way he talked to Abbi in the beginning, I would never again give him the time of day. Which leads me to Abbi's character, who I thought was very predictable and naive. Like girl, you are a beautiful, successful entrepreneur with everything in the world going for you - you do NOT let a man speak to you like that, I don't care how hot and rich he is! All I could think while reading this was a.) I hope my daughter grows up to have more respect for herself than to put up with men like Sebastian, and b.) I hope my son grows up to know that you do not speak to and/or treat women this way - point, blank, period. Personally, I think the domination/control stuff is fine during sexy time, if that's what you're into... but I wouldn't put up with it for one second any time outside of that. Especially in front of other people.

Overall, this was a quick, easy read - I'm just not a big fan of this genre so it wasn't really my cup of tea. I was really hoping to get a little more into the events going on outside of the relationship between Abbi and Sebastian, but as of now I'm not planning to read the next books in the series.
