I love a good romance every now and again, but from the first page, I knew I would not be happy reading this book. Each and every sentence was its own paragraph, and most of those sentences were incomplete. Incomplete sentences aren't necessarily a death sentence for a novel if appropriately applied, but the curtness of everything in this sample was gratuitous.

I pretty much lost interest when the suicide victim somehow threw herself off a bridge in an airtight plastic bag (or at least that's what everyone seems to accept as truth).
