Zimbabwe vs USA

Most of the female main characters in SEND HER BACK would feel weird about not wanting to GO BACK to the challenges of females existing in Zimbabwe, despite many good childhood memories.

And, because of the disastrous immigration/deportation/citizenship rules for people entering the USA from Zimbabwe, they also rarely feel that this can ever be HOME.

Consequently, except for the surprising Happy Ending of "Ostrich," all of the short stories involve major depressing scenarios. White racism is a given, as, oddly is the emphasis on the lives of rich white people. That class comparison also exists strongly for middle and lower class whites and so seems overdone.

Readers may be surprised at the depth and acceptance of anti-female behavior and attitudes in Zimbabwe and Mozambique which carry over to African males in the USA. As eye-opening are the expectations and the astronomical accompanying lies which define immigrant's lives while they try to support their Zimbabwe families and husbands across the ocean. Respect is often totally absent, leading to justified
and mostly repressed wild anger and a loss of hope.

The cover of SEND HER BACK is powerful and provocative.

Sure wish for a main character to care for amidst all the deep depression of the contrasting offerings of warm Zimbabwe and the snowy USA.
