Loved This!
I loved this book. It was such a good read, from start to finish! I could have easily devoured it in one sitting, had I had the time. I generally find that I can't get into short story collections, so I was a little apprehensive about this one, but I was intrigued by the synopsis. I was not disappointed!
Usually with short stories, I feel like they end so quickly that I can't really find a way to connect with the characters, and I feel character development is lacking. But with these stories, the author shapes each character brilliantly, and even if the story is only a few pages long, I felt invested in each and every one. Each story was unique and interesting, and told the stories of what it's like being a minority, and and immigrant, and a women in America.
Some of the stories were frustrating, some were sad, some made me smile, and all were eye opening. I would recommend this book to anyone!
