As a young woman who happens to be a poc I can deeply feel the main characters struggles as it seems the author portrays them. As a child I rarely saw representation in media and therefore grew up trying to fit a mold not meant for me. Later on I realized how beautiful my own culture is and how I should be prideful of my people and where I come from, so I love what this book is doing and the fact that the author is putting this out into the world since it seems like such a personal thing.
