Whisper Cove is a place with a strange history. Numerous women have been called to the sea, a sea where they ultimately drowned, many of whom brought their children with them. That is how Avril lost her mother when she was a young girl; Avril was lucky to survive, but she was left with weird fragments of memories. It's been twelve years since the events that took her mom’s life occurred, and Avril is desperate to know more about her mother and the place she loved, Whisper Cove. As chance would have it, Avril is given the amazing opportunity to attend an exclusive theater camp at Whisper Cove, which is run by a friend of her mother’s, Willa Culver, an award-winning playwright. Avril is desperate to uncover the secrets surrounding her strange memories, but will it come at a price?

There are so many things that I liked about this novel! Ginny Myers Sain, instead of using standard chapters, tells Avril’s story in acts and scenes, which is perfect seeing as this novel is set in a theater camp. I also enjoyed the mirroring between the play Midnight Music and Avril and Cole's story. I liked many of the characters as well as the many things that made them unique; they all loved the stage and performing but were so very different as individuals. There was a little bit too much mushy stuff for my tastes, although I understand its purpose. Secrets So Deep is a great novel that I simply flew through, wanting to know what secrets would be uncovered.
