I don't want to write this review, but here we are.

Ginny Myers Sain’s previous book, Dark and Shallow Lies, blew me away. And so I couldn’t wait for Secrets So Deep. Then I read it, and now…

Well, I still enjoyed the storytelling style. But everything else was a disappointment.

A big part of this story is an instalove connection between Avril and Cole, which I didn’t feel. At all. The characters just fell flat for me.

Pacing is slow, dragging on with repetitive content, lots of angst, and ever-present melodrama.

The biggest problem I had was that no one’s reactions were appropriate at any point. Major red flags were dropping everywhere with strange happenings and behavior, yet everyone just shrugged their shoulders and moved on. It was weird, to say the least.

Then again, lots of readers have loved this one, and this is only my opinion.
