Afghanistan to Hawaii.... A Perfect First Impression Excerpt!
I really liked this first impression of the book Saving Paradise by Mike Bond, and I liked the cover also. I can tell from my first impression that this is going to be the type of book I love, a major plot running through the story, with all kinds of subplots as well.
Pono Hawkins is an ex special forces veteran, lives in Hawaii, and teaches surfing, as well as surfing the waves with his dachshund, who loves to surf as well.
This book is part mystery, political issues, sex and lies, which he finds out one morning when he walks into the water and sees a young woman face down and dead. No one seems to think it was murder, but Pono knows otherwise. Now he has to prove it!
