So after reading the blurb on this book I thought, "strong female lead, check; men getting what they deserve, check; suspense, check; and finally a book about a bookstore worker and book lover, this book is for me!" And at first it was. But then (I don't even know when it was) I was lost. The premise behind this story is a good one, but unfortunately the author made it WAY more complex than a book of this genre usually is so it's being read by people expecting something much different than what they get. Honestly this wasn't a bad book, it was just too much. And as it went on it became too much to be even somewhat believable and I almost DNF'd it. BUT I will say I'm glad I didn't because the ending when it's finally revealed what happened to her as a child (wish a bit more detail had come before and also in general, but that's okay) and the story is wrap up well. So I give it two stars because although I was confused for a lot of it, by the end I was able it say the book was complete and almost (almost) made the middle parts make sense, not believeablr but at least I figured out what he was hinting at by the end.
