Not For Me

In Savage Tongues, the main character goes back to revisit an apartment and area where she spent a summer, learning about herself and having a love affair with a much older man.

I'll be honest...this book was not for me. The writer's style is beautiful and flowy, but it was too much. The writing was almost too descriptive. I also was not able to connect with any of the characters-they almost seemed too self absorbed. (I feel bad writing that but I just didn't care for majority of the characters.)

I didn't finish it. I tried. For me, it was one of those books that I could only read about 5 pages at a time without taking a break. I prefer to be one of those people that get lost in a book for hours...and this was not it for me.

I hope that others have a better experience with Savage Tongues than what I did. I think it has a lot of promise, but at the end of the day, just not for me.
