What gripped me first was this stunning minimalistic cover that caught my attention! From a first glance that book was interesting and the plot was intriguing but once you are past 50 pages it starts to get boring. I did not connect with our main character Arezu and felt like she was a lost puppy. With everything that had happened with Omar I was hoping she would have a defining moment. A spark of independence and feminism. From what I could make through I never say a spark ignite. This book had fell short for me and I’m sad that I decided not to continue. I really love a good book with amazing character development and that redeeming moment! Arezu would of been a fine independent woman who took her circumstances and blossomed. She felt like a grey cloud weighted by a million stones. I felt her best friend had a more interesting part of the story.
