Savage Tongues had all of the makings of a great book in my eyes. After getting a chance to read the first chapter in the first look, I thought that this was definitely something that I was going to really like. I instantly snapped up the review copy when I realized that I had the points. I picked back up at chapter 2 and I was almost instantly disappointed. I think that I had expected one thing and came to realize that I was getting something completely different. The whole book looked as though it was going to be following the main character through the city where she spent that tragic summer as a teen as she complained about what happened to her. You never really got a good look at what actually happened and just had to listen to her reminisce about Omar and the summer he took advantage of her. Though I think that this story would hit home for many people, it just wasn't a book for me and I could not finish it.
