I was immediately gripped on the first page by the main character's strong voice and perspective. She starts out by reminiscing about the summer 20 years ago where she has an affair with a much older man in Spain while supposed to be spending time with her father. Now back in present day, she has inherited the apartment and must face the emotions of the past while being a changed woman.
