I keep trying to get into this book and I've come to the conclusion that it just isn't for me. There's a lot going on here, and it's an interesting story, but I haven't been able to get myself hooked or interested enough to carry on.
There's a lot of point of views in this novel and it requires you to pay attention. As someone who likes to read in order to just relax and not have to use my brain too much, it's a bit of a turn off. But that is solely a personal preference!
However, that does not mean don't read this book! This review is solely due to personal reasons rather than the book itself, i.e. it's just not the best genre for me! It has some good qualities and outstanding reviews. I think this would be a great book for those who love epic fantasies and complex stories/world-building like Game of Thrones.
I will say that I love that it has a female lead. Epic fantasies don't tend to have those, and I'm all here for female empowerment.
