There is so much in this book that is absolutely incredible. The plot is very original, and the characters are diverse. Plus, while this book is very obviously fiction, it helps show real types of government, as well as how the government treats it's citizens.

The plot is very unique. The idea of a secret army, filled with people taken off the streets, is very interesting. It's also realistic, specifically in a place such a Crache. Added onto the fact that the army is used to steal land from other countries, and you have an irresistible concept.

The characters themselves are very diverse. There's a disabled main character, multiple nonbinary characters, and near the end of the book, a lesbian couple (with the possibility of it becoming polyamorous). The book also shows aggressions towards those groups. For example, it shows Taru, a nonbinary person, being taunted and wrongfully obtained by members of authority.

The book also sheds light onto government, and government control. At different points, members of authority wrongfully use their power to harass different people. It also helps show how people in authority can have different motives.

In conclusion, this book is an absolute must-read. I cannot recommend it enough!
