I have started to really enjoy fantasy, but I don't think this one is the book for me. There's a lot of world building in these first few pages, but I couldn't get into the different details enough to picture the sense of place. I like fantasy books that paint a picture vs. telling, and this doesn't strike the right balance for me. But I could see some fantasy fans really enjoying it!
