I was intrigued by this book when I began reading. I struggle with fantasy, especially when they throw so many made up terms in all at once. This one did that, but I let it go and just kept reading because I was super intrigued. But then, it seems these super important divisions between classes and their entire system is based on...Gender? And if you don't pick a gender you are an outcast? The concept still seems interesting to me, but I am concerned that the book may be more of a political statement than a fantasy novel.
