While I found the premise of this story interesting, I was a little put off by the section provided by the publisher for the sneak peek. I mean, an opening outlining how the incestual mating of insects powers the city's light sources probably wasn't meant to draw me in in the first place, but I doubt it was supposed to put me off so much. I believe that the rest of the preview was interesting, however, so maybe that was jump a bump I needed to get past. Nonetheless, I don't think I'll be picking this one up.
