So I unfortunately need to preface this review by saying that it very quickly became a did not finish (DNF) for me. More unfortunate is that I can likely count on one hand the number of DNF reads that I have come across in my reading history. While I had high hopes for this read - a first for me of McNab's thrillers - I just could not make it through more than the first quarter of the book.
I cannot pinpoint exactly why I was not immediately drawn into the story. It is possible that it just felt like a slow lead in to me and build to the greater plot - or it is possible that it was the language and style of writing.
Nonetheless, this read - or rather DNF read - would not dissuade me from picking up another McNab read and giving this author a second chance. The premise of the story was still intriguing - and I am keeping the novel on my bookshelf for another try on a rainy day.
