Devastatingly Brilliant (No Spoilers)
This book was entirely shocking and thrilling from the suspenseful action-packed plot to the hints of romance thrown into the storyline. I loved McNab's use of language to craft a fun, easy to read story that anyone can get interested in. This book captures the adrenaline of navigating a life-or-death terrorist group in the English Channel. The Russian terrorists are smart, crafty, and dangerous, but the novel's protagonist, Sergeant Tom Buckingham, is even more so.
My favorite part involved the interplay between Tom and his love interest Delphine. I could not put it down, because every chapter ends in a brilliant cliffhanger ending--will Delphine survive? Will Tom? My only stipulation would be McNab's slow introduction to the story. A little too much time is spent describing things, but overall a great read. Hopefully, the movie is just as good. (The book is always better ;))
