I could tell from the cover that I wasn't going to enjoy this story, and what I read in the excerpt didn't dissuade me from that. I'm not interested in reading about armies and battles in the real world. One thing that struck me was there were only two short lines of dialogue in the entire 8 page prologue, and then the chapters following were almost entirely dialogue. So a little jarring. The writing was decent though.
