Great YA book about generations old feud
What a great YA read that showcases a family feud that has been going on generations! Lari and Pedro are the current generation that have been raised to feud with one another. Now though, they're in high school and working together to save their families' bakeries from a giant supermarket chain that's determined to take over their neighborhood.
As Lari and Pedro spend time together during cooking club they begin to know each other on a deeper level and realize there is more to the families than the feud that has guided their lives for so long. As they let their guards down with one another they start to form a plan to solve the problems at both bakeries and save them.
I loved these characters, their cooking club friends and their families. The respect and honor Lari and Pedro have for their respective family is clearly apparent and makes it complicated as their feelings grow. This was such a sweet high school enemies-to-friends-to-more story. I highly recommend it to all that love the YA genre.
