Salt and Sugar immediately reels you in with this intensely sad drama of the grandma passing and the family at a loss for how to carry on. The main character Lari is endearing in her attempts to step into the family business with inevitable disaster following her at every turn. In the first few chapters there is a glimpse of Lari & Pedro’s relationship as children, I can’t wait to see where it goes!
