Wow! Carvalho made me cry and laugh all in the span of a handful of pages. The rawness of emotion from her grandmother's death and the burn of anger toward Sugar is so real I felt it burning inside of me. I could smell the delicious caramelized onions and the burning of the eggs. The description is just so vivid. I'm absolutely dying to find out the romance element of the book (I just know it'll be between the rival bakeries and it'll be excellent) and discover more delicious foods!
