I was quickly drawn into the world of Salt and Sugar! The excerpt left me wanting more. I would love find out how the relationship between Lari and her mom is healed, how Lari deals with a destroyed wedding cake and how the relationship develops with the rival bakery. I could feel Lari's sadness and wanted to offer her a hug before she walked into her family's bakery, this is a book I need and want to finish reading! As a school librarian I can think of a couple of students who would also enjoy reading this book and appreciate the diverse setting and characters.
