This book is about bakery vs. bakery, family vs. family. In prior years, Lari Ramires' family (salt) has had a standing agreement with the bakery across the street, one deal in salt, the other in sugar. With the passing of her grandmother, however, the line has become blurred and the Molina's (sugar) are breaking the rules, catering a complete event. A battle is brewing.
I feel like Lari will be figuring out her place in the family and bakery, now that her grandmother has passed. Her grandmother was her everything, so she will be adjusting to a new normal. I anticipate this story will be building in intensity.
