I'll start by saying that this isn't your classic thriller. I was captivated by the authors unique storytelling. This book showed the ripple effects of a murder and how it effects all people that were touched by the trauma. The author also touched on so many other deeper societal issues regarding grief, loss, race, obsession, class and privilege. I was thoroughly impressed. This was one of the most thought-provoking books I've read in quite sometime. A fascinating read about deeply rooted familial issues regarding sibling jealousy and the aftermath of a devastating crime. This was actually less about the crime itself and more about the characters, which I thought was a unique take on a thriller novel. Definitely recommend!
