The description of the book had me very interested to learn more. However, what I got when I read the sample fell short of what I had anticipated. The author does a fantastic job of setting the scene and making the reader feel like they are within the setting but the verbiage is off putting.
I found myself longing to get through the long paragraphs about blue oceans and dive into meeting the characters and seeing what happens next. When that section of the story began it was intriguing and started to grab my attention but, it was too little too late.
I could not get over wading through paragraphs of text to get to the nuggets of action.
If you are a reader who values description and an emersive reading experience, this book may be a great fit for you, but it did not appeal to my style as a reader.
