This was definitely a book I was looking forward to upon reading the first impression. I was glad to witness Alexis Schaitkin's debut in this novel because it was a brilliant debut and paves the way for more books to come.

The writing is superb and really draws you into the characters and their lives, truly a gift for any author to possess, where you steal the reader into your character's world and make them one with the story as if they're actually there, living in this novel. I love mystery novels that involve crime early in the character's lives, only to fast forward to the present day and bring up old matters. It's realistic and intriguing.
