Saint X is one of those books I will be thinking about for a while. Claire is only 7 years old when her college-age sister, Alison, disappears in the last night of their family vacation at a resort on the Caribbean island of Saint X.
Years pass and we follow Claire who is now grown and living in NYC and runs into one of the main suspects in her sister’s mysterious death. Alexis Schaitkin takes you for a ride into the obsessive mind of Claire and how she deals with confronting the man who was possibly responsible for her sister’s death.
The story really had more emotion than I thought it was going to bring. You could really feel the pain of the family and the islander, Clive, who Claire really gets to know during her journey to finding out the truth.
I loved Saint X and the mystery it unfolded. I couldn’t stop reading the book, and by the end I couldn’t believe it was over
