I started reading this book and immediately thought of the real life story of Holloway, a college girl missing on an vacation. I was intrigued and did not want to rehash the story, but this story goes beyond a missing girl, into each character and how a loss impacts them all, and what truly happened on that Island. To be close to your older sister and share a bedroom with her on the Island is to share secrets. And Claire has watched her sister Allison, paying attention to two men working at the resort and the special favors they give her. So When Allison disappears she feels guilty for not sharing everything she knew, she watches her family unravel and is never the same. Until she sees Clive here in the United States, one of the men. She decides to follow him and find out what really happened by friending him. This is where the story kicks off with intrigue and surprises.

It is a story that researches the Island, the people and their struggles, and those who come to enjoy it with privilege. The ending is not what you would have expected. I recommend this book.
