The story, characters, and settting were all incredibly intriguing, and I was fascinated by the strangeness of Claire getting to meet a suspect of her sister’s murder in such strange, coincidental circumstances. I don’t usually like audio, diary flashbacks with suave a large portion of italicized text, but somehow, the format still worked really well for me, although throughout the whole book I did feel like something was missing (can’t say exactly what, but that explains why this isn’t a five-star review). I don’t always love a slow-burning novel but I really did like this one. I guess Saint X defied my expectations and made me appreciate a type of book I normally wouldn’t. I hope to read more by Alexis Schaitkin soon!
