I wanted to love this book so much. As soon as I read the synopsis I was aching to have a copy to read. I loved the marketing packet with the fun theme of drink recipes, stir sticks and coasters. The cover is gorgeous and I loved the idea of the plot. But unfortunately the writing just did not allow me to get invested in the book. It was slow moving, with what felt like too much description, and hardly anything happening as chapters went on. It was way too hard to continue to read and feel invested in any of the characters, and I DNFed it. I was bummed to do so but this book really fell flat for me. I hoped for so much more based on the synopsis and storyline presented. It sounded like a big new best seller, and it just didn’t do it for me. :(
