I enjoyed it, even though it isn’t what I thought it’d be

Honestly it took me over a week to get through it, but that’s not a bad thing. Also, I wasn’t ripping through the pages desperate to find out what happens next, but that isn’t a bad thing either.

I couldn’t really give a genuine answer if you were to ask me how I felt about the story. It really dug deep into what we, as social creatures, do for attention, gratification and validation. I mean, why do we do what we do? What does it all boil down to?

The characters were ok. I wasn’t attached. The only character my heart ached for was Gogo. Alison annoyed me. Clairey/ Emily annoyed me. The story was good. But this book wasn’t about the mystery surrounding a murder. It was about the butterfly effect that resulted. It shone a light on race and privilege.
