I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I picked up this book. I guess I was thinking it would be a fast paced thriller. That is definitely not the case with this book. This book was rich in description and is more character based than thriller and plot based. I think if I knew that going into the book I would have enjoyed it more, but I do not like to read reviews or anything before I start a new book. I know that a ton of people really liked this one so it may be just me. I am typically a very fast reader but it took me a long time to get through this one. That doesn't necessarily mean that I won't like it but this book just felt so dense and heavy to me. The writing was good, it just wasn't for me in the end.
