I really enjoyed the beautiful writing of this book! While slow at times, it was almost dry like a fine wine or aged cheese. I enjoyed the social class portrayal and almost mockery of upper class. I was intrigued enough to keep reading until the end. While I don’t think this is a book I would find myself dying to reread, it was definitely worth reading once. The cover is absolutely stunning and would make a great eye piece on any bookshelf. I do find myself thinking back to how I would have handled something so shocking, which is a good sign I guess! I went into this book with friends having DNF’d it, but I’m glad I stuck with it. I would love to read more of this author’s work, as I thoroughly enjoyed their writing style!
