First off, thank you Bookish First and Celadon books for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Oh man, I wanted to like this book. It's touted as a thriller, but unfortunately it was not only so. dang. slow, it wasn't even a thriller. I'd characterize this book more as a social commentary that happens to have a death in it at the beginning. Did I mention how slow it was? Once I realized it wasn't a thriller, I tried to seriously rate it for the book that it was, not the book that I hoped it to be. Even then, though, nothing really happens. Again, it's more commentary about social class and structure, and potentially the author is trying to get you to create biases in your head and then laugh at yourself when you realize that's all they were, your biases. But it just wasn't as good for me. I don't think I appreciated it as much as I should have, nor as much as I wanted to.
