I had a hard time with this book, and I never really got into it. It's compared to "The Blair Witch Project," a movie I couldn't get into, as it felt too disjointed. Perhaps I should have kept that in mind.

The format made if feel extremely choppy, which made it hard for me to connect with the story line or characters. There were regular chapters, but there are numerous transcripts of messages, descriptions of videos and pictures, and phone messages.

I do enjoy YA books, and that's what this is geared toward. Many YA books also work for adults, but I'm not sure this is one of them. There's quite a bit of diversity in the cast, but it felt like it was done to purposely check off all the boxes. It felt a bit too "neat."

I'd expected more of a horror/thriller angle to this, but that didn't seem to be the case.
