I really was sucked into this story right away. Everyone has heard some sort of ghost story about a forest, or road or house so it’s easily relatable. I also really like how she intertwined the previous town before it burned down into the story line. I also liked how the writer used “interview transcripts” for part of the story. I love when they add those little touches, just makes it all the more real. I like a good ghost story but not an out there one, so this one sounds like it would be a ghost story I could read and enjoy and not feel was super “fake”. I’m glad I gave this preview a read, as it’s not my go to or normal genre to read usually. I’m adding this to my Goodreads TBR and will be putting this on my Library list.
