"Rules For Vanishing" was so good, and so much creepier than I expected it to be! The writing style and beginning of the story was immediately gripping, haunting, and memorable when I had to put the excerpt down. The lore and stories about Lucy Gallows and the road in the forest are explained immediately, which I liked, and they were very detailed, and even had false versions of the lore, which showed me that the author put a lot of thought into the lore and its backstory of the book. I also really enjoyed the various ways that the story is told, such as text messages, group chats, interview scripts, and the prose of Sarah's voice. It added more depth to the story, and made it more interesting and suspenseful. I really like the cover for its simple illustration of the forest and the colour scheme, and part of why I didn't expect this book to be as creepy as it was, was because of the cover. I look forward to adding this book to the top of my TBR!
