The first thing that really struck me with this book was the use of mixed media. It really built up the mystery and suspense because we were seeing things as an observer in a lot of ways. The group of friends are an unusual bunch and their hesitation to go into the woods based on a ghost story to find their missing friend is a great start. It quickly blends the supernatural element and the suspense builds as the teens begin to follow the rules and explore the woods. Even thought this is written from a young adult perspective, I think it is extremely compelling for an adult. It is scary and mysterious and I couldn’t put it down. I had to know what was going to happen. It was so full of twists and surprises up until the end and I really enjoyed this one. I read this book in a day!
