This was spooky, without being too scary, and immediately drew me in. I couldn't wait to pick it back up when I had to stop reading for a bit. I liked the characters and the premise a lot- the characters were distinct enough to not have me scratching my head about who is who and how they’re related, which I sometimes struggle with.

This was the perfect book to scratch that I-want-spooky-even-though-I’m-a-chicken itch that I seem to get in October. And the pacing was perfect - I usually lose interest in thrillers as they give background for too long before jumping into the action, but this hopped right in and had stuff constantly going on. I loved her first book too, and while they were very different, this was something they shared. I can’t wait to read whatever she comes up with next.
