I was pleasantly surprised to see the format of this book, I was expecting a more novelized account but in true found footage fashion we have a collection of interviews, texts, and written testimony to tell the story. It works really well for a supernatural story. For the record, I do NOT want to play this game. Sorry, Lucy.
I like the blending of supernatural with the real world setting via urban legends, because we all grew up with out own regional lore(and I most certainly spent many nights driving around the forest searching for ghosts in high school).
The cover is stunningly beautiful, the writing is fast-paced, the characters each feel fully developed, and I devoured the excerpt to try and piece together what happened. This is a unique tale and one I look forward to reading in full!
