Sometimes for me, romances are hit or miss. This one reads as a hit! I was interested from the beginning. The characters are intriguing, the immediate action drew me in, and the setting is exciting. While the premise of a green card marriage could seem over-done, the author makes it seem fresh and fun. I was interested in Holland, her past, her present, and her future. I wanted to know more about Calvin too. What brought him to New York? What is he hiding?
The author does a great job of reeling me in with small details and hints of things to come. And I loved the humor. I found myself laughing out loud--and it was just the first few chapters! This is a book that will be going on my to-read list!
