Okay
I read the sample for this book.
One of the first scenes in this book is one in which the character ends up on train tracks in front of a busker who she has a crush on, which is a pretty cliche concept. It also felt like this book was missing some scenes before that point, where we would ramp up her interest in this busker, noticing him each day but never getting the courage to speak to him. It is mentioned that this has happened, but because it's never described, we're just thrust into a situation where we're supposed to be somewhat interested in this man.
Then, when she is injured in said scenario, the busker lies to the emergency responders, making everyone believe she jumped. His explanation for this later on makes absolutely no sense. He says the cops would not believe his story, which they would have no reason to question, and why would that matter enough to lie anyway? And if he was truly more concerned about her safety as he claimed, why wouldn't he step in to help her when the drunk man is chasing her through the train station before she gets pushed?
Nothing really stood out in this sample of the book.
