To be quite honest, I couldn't get past the first couple of pages. The blurb sounded interesting to me, especially because I'm a huge Broadway fan, but the few pages I read were pretty disappointing. I didn't even like the protagonist's name (Holland Lina Bakker).

Surprisingly, I was hooked by the first two paragraphs, something that doesn't happen to me a lot. I love a bit of humor, and the hook had that.

However, all of my interest vanished right after Holland got into the taxi and started telling the readers about Jack. I didn't like the writing style for the same reasons I don't like adult fiction -- it's just kind of bland. I find it too slow, so I stick with young adult fiction most of the time.

This was probably a super unhelpful review lol.
